ChileCompra donates software for the development of a public procurement platform to Buenos Aires provincial government
The General Secretary of the Province of Buenos Aires, Jose Scioli, said that "Chile has pioneered the implementation of an online public procurement system capable of integrating all public agencies. This system has produced very successful results, creating a model which others are now following".
374 high public officials have measured their public procurement competencies
A new accreditation session was held on Friday, September 4 in Santiago, with the participation of 170 government authorities, including sub-secretaries, heads of public services, superintendants, governors, mayors, hospital directors and the National Economic Prosecutor, Enrique Vergara Vial.
Previously this year, 194 high public officials had already taken a similar but shorter accreditation exam, which is a requisite for all employees of the public procurement units of Chilean public institutions.
5th Government Procurement Conference of the Americas
The 5th Government Procurement Conference of the Americas starts today in Mexico City with the participation of sixty-five international participants including international experts and senior officials of government procurement from twenty-one different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Key findings following the application of the Pilot e-GPO System

The model was created with the objective of measuring the following two main areas: legal/institutional aspects; and the technological functionalities of the system. Both focus areas are divided into sub-groups and then into unique variables, which are measured according to four levels of maturity.
ChileProveedores, the Chilean State Supplier Registry, is now open to the private sector

The products and services offered by the businesses registered with Chile’s Official Online Supplier Registry, ChileProveedores, shall now be available not only through the public procurement market, but also to national and foreign businesses.
